S.01Terminal

Dictate into the terminal on Mac.

Talk into Terminal, iTerm, Warp or any shell, and into the tools that run there: Claude Code, Codex, git. Blurty types what you say, cleaned up.

The terminal is the one place dictation never worked: it's a plain text field, and the tools inside it (Claude Code, Codex, git, your own scripts) all want typed text. Blurty types for you, so you can hold a key and say it.

What it's good for

  • Coding agents in the terminal. Run claude or codex, hold the key, and describe what you want. Prompt mode shapes it into a clear request with the names in backticks. Blurty's Chats panel also shows those chats at the edge of your screen, so you can talk to them from any app and answer their questions by voice.
  • Commit messages and long commands. Dictate mode writes what you said, word for word; Clean mode fixes punctuation and drops the filler.
  • Any terminal. Terminal, iTerm2, Warp, the terminal inside VS Code or Cursor: if the cursor is there, the words go there.

It won't run anything

When you dictate into a terminal, Blurty types the text and leaves Enter to you, so you read the line before you run it.
